And, given the history of the Harper years, the trial was entirely in (Harper's) character. His prime directive has always been to get even.Owen Grayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06464860078574618579noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35117130.post-31487693931491294192016-02-19T12:07:13.484-05:002016-02-19T12:07:13.484-05:00I've been wondering how justice Vaillancourt w...I've been wondering how justice Vaillancourt will deal with what amounts to a vexatious, potentially even malicious prosecution. Throwing the book at Duffy with 31 charges that triggered a trial that consumed 6 full weeks of court time and immense cost for the province of Ontario and for the defendant can't possibly be seen as anything but an abuse of the court's process. Then the Crown capped it all off by effectively abandoning the one substantive charge - the immaculate bribery charge.

I don't think even if he wanted to ditch this pig Vaillancourt can ignore the clear signs that this was always a political persecution masquerading as a criminal prosecution. Taking Nigel off the hook for bribery was compelling proof that this was tailored to insulate not just Wright but other key PMO staffers, top Tory senators and Harper from criminal accountability. The Mound of Soundhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09023839743772372922noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35117130.post-49817090021213792562016-02-19T10:07:32.632-05:002016-02-19T10:07:32.632-05:00We move, rumley, as long as they don't feel st...We move, rumley, as long as they don't feel stuck.Owen Grayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06464860078574618579noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35117130.post-18051664395919271442016-02-19T09:36:01.685-05:002016-02-19T09:36:01.685-05:00It is surprising, to me, that no one has realised ...It is surprising, to me, that no one has realised that Canadians have freedom of movement.
