The reason the Republicans attach it is, as they have stated many times, "to make Obama a one term president". Behind this is racism and fear of foreigners as well as an irrations view that only the market place can get the job done. The American Health Care plan will not achieve the goal of lowering the cost. The only way to do this is to get the private insurers out of the health care field. They will have to learn this the hard way. <br /><br />I wonder how many Republican States will have the courage of their convictions and opt out and refuse the federal money. <br /> One State that is trying to have a single payer plan is Vermont. The ideologues on the right are currently attack this progressive plan to try to make it fail.
