It's been a dark year. And the weeks following Christmas will be filled with more death and -- for many -- desperation.
A principal I worked with, who is a cancer survivor, says the disease has changed his perspective. He appreciates each new day and the potential it brings. He has learned what many of us are still learning. May we come to experience his wisdom.

A dark year indeed Owen, in more ways than one, but some glimmers of light are starting to show for the future. Let us hope that the heath of both individuals and society improves over the upcoming year.
May you and yours enjoy heath and happiness during this season and beyond.
Normally, I spend Christmas with my siblings and their families. That's off this year. Instead, we're thinking of a walk in the woods together, then everyone back to their own homes for Christmas dinner. It won't be as much fun as usual, but that's par for the course this year.
