Awash In Morons

The gloves are off between Donald Trump and Anthony Fauci. Venay Menon writes:

To be America’s top infectious disease specialist right now must be maddening. This pandemic is like an overflowing sink. But instead of trying to turn off the valves, Donald Trump insists water isn’t real as he sprays the rest of the kitchen with a firehose.

That’s the deranged part. Not only has Trump overseen the most catastrophic public health failure in American history, he’s actively made it worse. A study from Stanford University published Friday analyzed the community impact of 18 Trump rallies. Researchers concluded his Election Infection Tour has resulted in more than 30,000 cases and 700 deaths.

It’s bananas. If this election were six months away, Trump wouldn’t get a single vote because all of his supporters would be dead. I will never get how or why he thought he could shrug off a PANDEMIC. It’s as if he refuses to look up while standing in the darkening shadow of an incoming asteroid.

Fauci has stopped being diplomatic:

"We’re in for a whole lot of hurt,” he told the Washington Post, in a candid interview published on Saturday that felt like a declaration of war against the Trump administration. “It’s not a good situation. All the stars are aligned in the wrong place as you go into the fall and winter season, with people congregating at home indoors. You could not possibly be positioned more poorly.”

Yesterday, Trump told one of his rallies that he would fire Fauci after the election. The Mob cheered. The United States is awash in morons.

I was a bit shaken as I listened to Trump's mob loudly chant, "fire Fauci, fire Fauci, fire Fauci." Trump's smug response confirmed that the Gullibillies were feeding the beast. Yes, after the election, the mob would be served Fauci's head on a platter a la John the Baptist.

What has become of that country that this election, we're told, could go either way? What have the American people become? How do we get Trump, should he prevail, to build a Great Northern Wall?

I suspect that we may build that wall on our own, Mound.

Even if Biden and Harris eek out a win tomorrow, it will take months, not to mention that the flu season is well underway by inauguration time, that it will be too late to save the tens of thousands who will meet an early grave because of this deliberate indifference. Collectively we need to stop giving him an out by calling it incompetence. IT's nothing of the sort- deliberate, sadistic cheering of more death disease and hardship for the people who support this fraud. He will see the inevitable 500K deaths as a win, as they've already conditioned the establishment that less than 2 million is a win. BC Waterboy

I'd call it negligent homicide, waterboy. The law calls that a crime.

I'm reminded, lungta, of that old joke where a man is asking God why his plans have gone wrong. There is a flash of lightning and a crack of thunder. A hand comes down from a cloud and picks up the questioner. A deep voice responds, "Because you piss me off!"
