Trump's Unreliability

The back and forth during the recent government shut down proves one thing: Donald Trump is utterly unreliable. Paul Krugman writes:

Two weeks ago, Trump declared that if Congress came up with a plan to protect Dreamers — undocumented immigrants brought here as children — while enhancing border security, he would sign it. Two days later, a bipartisan group of senators brought him a plan doing just that — and he rejected it, complaining about immigrants from “shithole countries.”
On Friday, Chuck Schumer, the Senate Democratic leader, seemed to have at least a short-term agreement with Trump, only to see it pulled back a few hours later. Working with Trump is “like negotiating with Jell-O,” Schumer fumed.
Finally, on Monday Democrats agreed to a three-week extension of funding in return for a promise from Mitch McConnell, the Senate majority leader, of a vote on immigration legislation (we’ve heard nothing from Trump). If this vote doesn’t happen, we’ll be back to square one Feb. 8. Anyone want to take bets?

I wouldn't. Anyone who knows anything about Trump shouldn't:

Trump’s whole business career has been a series of betrayals — failed business ventures from which he personally profited while others, whether they were Trump University students, vendors or creditors, ended up holding the bag. And he hasn’t grown a bit in office, unless you count that mysterious extra inch.

Who knows what will happen? But the whole world knows it can't rely on Donald Trump.

Trump is ruthlessly focused. His creation of the fog of war is just a tactic. I have to say over and over again to the Trump derangement syndrome folk. This man spent nothing, had no ground game, and beat the Hillary Machine despite want to grab your pussy outburts. Paul Krugman I admire but taking a snapshot of Trump and peddling it as a movie is worthless.

The whole world knows it can't rely on the GOP, except the Democrats it seems. The Dems apparently accepted McConnell's word that he'd bring a bipartisan DACA bill to a vote in the Senate. A few weeks ago, McConnell promised Susan Collins a similar vote on the ACA in exchange for her support on the tax cuts for billionaires bill. Dems should ask Collins how she feels about being rolled by a man entirely without scruples.

I repeat, Steve: Trump lost the popular vote by three million votes. He's president because of the Electoral College. He is not president because he is a "stable genius."

Precisely, Cap.

Popular vote, whats next how many letters you sent to Santa Clause. The popular vote in the US and even in Canada is bull hockey played on a table top game by the master twirlers of the players.

New York and California would dictate the world if the popular vote mattered. Is this a good thing? We have it in Canada where Quebec and Ontario mean much more than Alberta, so I would say yes its a good thing.

However due to no competition the candidates comming from Califronia and New York stink
like cannibals of democracy.

I also say that you should pay attention to the details. The rebels voted with the empire to make sure the NSA knows whats in your urine, and they dont need a court order to leak it.

You support a man Rex Tillerson and Rupert Murdoch have called a "fucking idiot," Steve. Given the fact that both men supported Trump, their observations gives me pause.

Owen if you support poly-carbonate its not to say you support plastic. I think Trump is the epitome of the lie that is democracy just like in England no one seems to realize they have the house of lords that is not cermonacy,

You control the posts. I have never supported Trump. I am sure I have linked to pre President Trump what a pile of non reclaim he is.

The fact is he is Presisdent, so do not throw the baby out with the bathwater
but he will win in the next election unless there is someone
who can really lead,.

Nacny Pelosi and Hillary Clinton are dead to me

Your claim that you have never supported Trump comes as a surprise, Steve, given your past comments. I understand that you didn't support Hillary. And you keep expressing admiration for the fact that Trump beat her in the last election -- a claim that is not supported by the popular vote totals.

So who did you support? Bernie Sanders? You've written a lot more about Trump than Sanders.

Hi Owen, I was all Bernie. Then he sold out. Then I was lost.

I always thought and its come true that Trumph was the swamp and the Repuclicans would have to drink it. Seems its going my way. Just I do not trust the Dems, same as the people that gave us Iggy.

Bernie lived to fight another day, Steve. Hillary didn't.

The level of civility that leads you to engage in this endless (and pointless) jousting is impressive, Owen.

I'm committed to civility, Mound. But it's hard to be civil -- really hard.
