We Do Ourselves Harm

You may have noticed that, during the inquiry into the truckers' convoy, Pierre Poilievre is nowhere to be seen or heard. Susan Delacourt writes:

Police and politicians had many fierce disputes about the convoy, we’ve learned in often-fascinating detail over the past three weeks, but one thing they appear to have all agreed upon is that it was a public-security threat of major proportions.

Nearly two dozen witnesses have now taken the stand at Justice Paul Rouleau’s commission hearings in Ottawa. Many of them have been police officers. Not one of them has given backing to this idea that the convoy was merely a fun-for-the-whole-family adventure. “Devastating impact” and “a crisis in Ottawa,” were among the descriptive phrases used by retired Ontario Provincial Police superintendent Carson Pardy.

Poilievre has said nothing -- although he did have plenty to say during the protest:

As recently as June, Poilievre was also still insisting on social media “that Trudeau could have ended the trucker protest in one day, if he’d had the guts to listen to the people — and let them go back to their jobs.”

Like Poilievre, Ontario Premier Doug Ford is doing his best not to be seen or heard. Perhaps that's because he's too busy preventing Ontario's education workers from striking -- which will be their legal right after Friday of this week. And he plans to use the notwithstanding clause to avoid any legal blowback to his legislation.

There's no mystery to these people. We know who they are. And we do ourselves harm when we elect them.

It's disgusting to contrast the speed with which Ford put an end to a legal education workers strike, not even hesitating to invoke the Charter's rarely used Notwithstanding Clause, with his do-nothing approach to the occupation of Ottawa. We can certainly see where his priorities lie.

I am definitely dating myself here, but these courageous political leaders bring back memories:

" "Hen-reeeeeeeeeeeee! Hen-ree Al-drich!", and he responded with a breaking adolescent voice, "Com-ing, Mother!""

Replace Henry with
"Druggieeee, Drug-iee Ford!" or
"Little PeePeeeeee, Little Pee-Pee Poilievre "
and run it as a headline across the country.

And from the twilight zone called Canadian politics i give you Dozi Dani Smith , full control and doing maximum damage without the hassle of being elected.

Blaming the voters is getting kind of lame when whoever is managing the backroom gives you the choice of Larry, Curly or Moe.

Both these boys, like Henry, get themselves in trouble on a regular basis, PoV.

Canadians need to know these developing stories
We see Doug Ford desperately trying to delay & stall testifying at the EA Inquiry until the Inquiry Mandate runs out. Testifying means either lying (more) or telling the Truth (alien to him) The Truth would likely mean someone goes under the bus. When that becomes obvious, more people get dragged into his cage..

It’s the same re Poilievre trying to avoid notice, and Candice Bergen. They’re in up to their necks. Pierre 4 PM goes up in flames if something unexpectedly connects the dots.. bing bang & he’s blindsided by a verifiable revelation.

The same names are popping up per my link.. as a new story springs to life re attempts to set up Mayor Denshi in Calgary for Corruption. Presumably his former Business Partner Jonathan Denis is hiding out, Allan Hallman as well. The Leaked Klondike Papers reveal so many Political & Governmental connection & extended interactions. Jason Kenney, Stephen Harper > Lecce > Jenni Byrne ! Gerald Chipeur > Plymouth Brethren ? Say what ?

Oh oh - Call Navigator for Damage Control. What if new evidence drops re 2011 Live & Robocall Election Fraud ? Try to tell me Lecce & Jenni Byrne can’t sink Pierre 4 PM’s ship ! How about his Provincial counterpart in Carleton Riding. She forgot to mention she was suspended by Ontario Law Society prior to being re-elected.. not a problem for Doug Ford.

Bergen has to testify. Her now infamous text to O’Toole’ Senior Caucus. Are we to believe Poilievre & Jenni Byrne, Doug Ford were unaware ? Such obvious questions require answers.. something has to give. People like Gerald Chipeur we’re not sitting on their hands, nor was Jason Kenney ! THREE Conservative Parties are at extreme risk currently, Ontario, Alberta, and Federal. Leadership ? What Leadership ? Character or Ethics .. say wha !

The use of the Not Withstanding clause is getting a bit much. Politicians are using it to get around the constituion and that will not end well for any body, including those who use it.
Perhaps the Supreme Court will rule some day that the things that Ford is doing, to avoid people exercising their rights, is not what the clause is meant for and that he is not correct in using it. Same applies to other Premiers who are using it to avoid the laws of the land and actually violate other Canadians rights. Of course they will also have to reign in Quebec.........

If the teachers in Ontario are unhappy with Ford and his proposals, they might want to come to B.C. The NDP settled with the teachers and increased funding so 1,100 new teachers can be hired--full time. It also has raises which takes teachers over the $100,000 a year line. Housing maybe more expensive, but for those in Toronto, its on par and Vancouver Island doesn't get much snow.

B.C. also settled with the Doctors so their income increases approx. $135K a year helping with the increase costs of running a practise.

As one political pundit wrote, Horgan provided B.C. with stability. In an unstable time, things have been relatively "stable" in B.C. Next big contract to settle will be with the nurses. Horgan understands sometimes you have to spend money to make money and that applies to the public sector also. In this case its cheaper to pay more doctors and teachers than to have unhealthy, uneducated people, not to mention, people dying due to a lack of health care. Ford hasn't gotten the memo yet Perhaps its time for the people of Ontario to wake up to what they are doing to themselves.

Ontario's hospitals are running on fumes because they don't have enough staff, e.a.f. Nurses have quit or moved away. The same thing will happen in Ontario's schools.

Alberta has the same hospital staffing problems.
Horgans decision to increase salaries and wages was a smart move.
