That was quite a performance. Yesterday, in his speech to the Conservative Political Action Conference, Donald Trump made it clear he's out for revenge. Jonathan Martin and Maggie Haberman write:
In an address on Sunday at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Orlando, his first public appearance since he left the White House, Mr. Trump read a sort of hit list of every congressional Republican who voted to impeach him, all but vowing revenge.
“The RINOs that we’re surrounded with will destroy the Republican Party and the American worker and will destroy our country itself,” he said, a reference to the phrase “Republicans In Name Only,” adding that he would be “actively working to elect strong, tough and smart Republican leaders.”
And the false claims continued:
Mr. Trump, of course, lost the election last year.
But that did not stop him from repeatedly, and falsely, claiming in his speech that he had won. After mostly sticking to his prepared text for the first hour of his 90-minute speech — and listing what he said were the accomplishments of his tenure — the former president grew animated and angry as he veered off the teleprompter to vent about his loss.
“The Supreme Court didn’t have the guts or the courage to do anything about it,” Mr. Trump said of a body that includes three of his appointees. He was met with chants of “You won, you won!”
The crowd cheered him and sought to kiss his ring -- or some other part of his anatomy.
No doubt about it. he's back.

They should have changed the title of this little show and tell to the Conservative Republican Action Pep-Talk or CRAP for short, because that is exactly what it was.
The big, sore loser may be back, but CPAC's straw poll showed only 55% would vote for him in the next election. He's lost his Twitter bullhorn and the lawsuits he's facing haven't started to bite yet. Then there's his health, which visibly deteriorated during his time in office. He's best ignored as I doubt he'll run for office again.
Cap
I like the acronym, Lulymay. It accurately reflects what this piece of theatre was all about.
And, if the multiple charges he faces result in just one conviction, he won't be able to run again, Cap.
Trump is a spent force as far as his political ambitions are concerned. Once the Manhattan and New York district attorneys have digested the millions of pages of records turned over by Trump's accountants they'll start getting Trump's aides under oath starting with Allen Weisselberg who knows where all the bodies are buried.
This has gone from a hush money scandal into a broader tax fraud, tax evasion and money laundering investigation into the Trump Organization that seems headed for a RICO racketeering case. The tariff on RICO is $25,000 and 20 years in the slam on each count. Even Mafia hitmen buckled under that pressure so it's unlikely that Weisselberg and those CPAs won't spill their guts.
Mueller said his mandate from Bill Barr didn't permit him to delve into these matters but the Manhattan, New York state and Southern District prosecutors can go at Trump with bloody fang and claw.
This would be a burden for a healthy man but it's hard to imagine Trump holding up.
Trump's health has got to be a question mark, Mound. He may exit stage right before he's due to report to prison.
Remember how they got Capone. I hope they hurry up and nail this guy down. I am living in Illinois at the moment so I am surrounded by the whole thing and to be quite honest listening to this guy is actually making me physically ill. I'm hoping one of his secret service guys go rogue.
You're in the middle of the mess, zoombats. Stay safe.
