Elizabeth II

Just a few words about the queen. She was of that generation who came of age during World War II. Perhaps that helps explain who she was. In an age when so many try to make a virtue of selfishness, she so obviously was not in it for herself. She will be missed. But we should not forget her.

On the first day of Trump's visit in 2019, the queen wore the broach Obama gave her. On the last day, she wore the snowflake broach that Canada's GG David Johnston gave her. That's elite level shade. RIP.

Indeed, Cap.

The Queen did an excellent job and provided a sense of stability in a time when there wasn't much. She was always there.

That stability was hugely important during a time of monumental change, e.a.f.

The attitudes of that generation and the actions undertaken in society because of their learning and experience are underappreciated in the rat societies that have succeeded them. Wait a minute. "Underappreciated" is too kind. What they contributed has been ignored and even denounced in our pursuit and glorification of personal self-interest. We shit on their lives. Each time I hear of another one of them passing my anger is intensified. I hope that a lot of the presiding libertarians live long enough for the next generation to deal with them in a way that they should be.

She will be missed. We will not see her kind again. When ever correspondence was sent, she always replied. She was an observant person with a sense of humour as Cap has indicated. The broach thing….wonderful! Anyong

There are many who simply do not understand what Elizabeth's generation faced, John. And they surely do not have the character of many in that cohort.

Such grace and such humour, Anyong.
